In May 2014, Sepulveda Boulevard between Victory Boulevard and Oxnard Street was resurfaced. In 2016, a new Los Angeles County family services building was constructed at the southwest intersection of Van Nuys Boulevard and Saticoy Street.

Within Los Angeles, the area was deemed "moderately diversified." Hispanics made up 60.5 percent of the population, while whites made up 23.1 percent, Asians made up 6.4 percent, blacks made up 6 percent, and others made up 4 percent. Mexico (41.5 percent) and El Salvador (17.3 percent) were the most prevalent birthplaces for the 49.8 percent of Los Angeles inhabitants who were born elsewhere—a high percentage for the city. There were 4,917 single-parent households, or 21.3 percent of all families, which is considered high for both the city and the county.
